After the huge success of the 2008 Thanksgiving and 2009 Easter Food Drives to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County . . . we have decided to make this an Annual event!
Hunger in Orange County? As reported by Second Harvest: "In one of the world's most affluent places, more than 456,000 people are at risk of going hungry sometime each month. Most are children and seniors. Until the job market fully recovers, the need is greater than ever: With some of the country's highest rents, people in Orange County often need to choose between paying rent and feeding their families."
With even greater demand in 2009, Back to Basics has expanded our effort with the help of our co-sponsors Trader Joe's and Yogaworks. Joining hands with the Orange County community November 21st from 8:00am until 4:00pm we will be kicking off the Food Drive accepting donations at three separate locations across the O.C. Our combined goal is to raise over 2500 lbs of food for Second Harvest.
On Saturday please help us reach our goal by making a Non-perishable food donation at any of the following Trader Joe's locations:
COSTA MESA: Trader Joe's @ 640 W. 17th St., Costa Mesa, CA, 92627
HUNTINGTON BEACH: Trader Joe's @ 18681 Main St., H.B., CA, 92648
MISSION VIEJO: Trader Joe's @ 26541 Aliso Creek Rd. Aliso Viejo, CA, 92656
After our Kick-Off event on Saturday November 21st, donations can still be made until November 30th at Back to Basics Health and Wellness @ 1617 Westcliff Dr., Suite 205, Newport Beach, CA, 92660 949-650-0736.
Each person making a donation to the Second Harvest food bank will receive a Thank You Gift from the charity sponsors Back to Basics and Yogaworks, and the first 150 people making a 10+ item donation on Saturday November 21st will receive a bonus Yogaworks Tote!
We look forward to seeing you!
